Channel on Jalan Bumi Indah Kebon Jeruk Dredged

West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-department dredges mud sedimentation from water channel located on Jalan Bumi Indah RT 10, 11 RW 09, Sukabumi Utara, Kebon Jeruk.

17 personnel are deployed to dredge the mud

This dredging has been started from September 17 and its current process has reached 50 percent.

Kebon Jeruk SDA Unit Head, Nurdin conveyed, mud dredging is done to follow up resident's complaint that has been conveyed to West Jakarta City Council regarding this channel that often causes inundation on the location when the rain falls.

"17 personnel are deployed to dredge the mud. Its progress currently reaches 50 percent. It is expected to finish next month," he mentioned, Wednesday (10/2).

In order to ease the dredging, his side creates main holes every five meters from total channel's length 200 meters and depth 1 meter.

"We have completed dredging mud on open channel. While for closed channel, we need to disassemble it first," he stated.

West Jakarta City Councilor, Rasyid Ridho appreciated SDA Sub-department's fast response in following up resident's complaint.

"Since 1988, this channel has never been dredged. This is the first time SDA Sub-department follow it up fast," he asserted.
